    Com-Power broadband high gain preamplifiers were designed for electromagnetic interference (EMI) testing and certification.

    EMC test labs use preamplifiers to improve sensitivity of the test system during EMI radiated emissions measurements. Without a high gain preamplifier, signals picked by the antenna that have amplitudes below the noise floor of the test system cannot be measured. The preamplifier gain has minimum variations for the entire operating frequency range for accurate emissions measurements.

    The Com-Power preamplifiers were primarily intended for EMC applications. However, it can be used for other applications that require signal amplification.

    Intended for improving measurement sensitivity Com-Power model PAL-010 Preamplifier is for EMC compliance testing. It has a frequency range of 100 Hz to 30 MHz.. It has gain of 28 dB gain . Therefore, It amplifies the signals that were previously hidden below the receiver noise floor of the EMI receiver so that it can be seen and measured. The PAL-010 has a gain variation of ±2.5 dB for the entire frequency range to reduce measurement errors. It can be powered by the rechargeable NimH batteries included when an external power source is not available.

    Com-Power Model PAM-103 Preamplifier is intended for improving measurement system sensitivity during EMC compliance testing.. It has a frequency range of 1 to 1000 MHz.. It has gain of 33 dB gain . Therefore, It amplifies the signals that were previously hidden below the noise floor of the EMI receiver so that it can be seen and measured.     A wideband high gain preamplifier Model PAM-118A is a bench-top microwave preamp operating over 500 MHz to 18 GHz. This preamplifier is primarily intended for EMI / EMC applications; however, it may be used for other application which requires low noise and high signal amplification. The simple front panel consists of two 50 Ohm matched precision N-connectors for input and output. The preamplifier was designed to have flat gain with minimal variation over the entire frequency range. The flat gain helps in taking fast readings during trouble shooting, R&D phase. The high gain and low noise figure of PAM-118A increases system sensitivity of effectively all measurement systems. It has low VSWR and high reverse isolation. The PAM- 118A is battery powered to avoid any noise effects of power cables. It can also be powered by 15 VDC, 500 mA power adapter (provided with the unit).
